A Little Bit of HDR
This was shot earlier today in the Mojave Desert. It was a little bit of test that I didn't expect anything from. Anyway, the original normal exposed is above while the HDR image is below.

Some Lucky Pictures Around Berkeley
Just a few opportune pictures around the Berkeley Campus.

A make-shift memorial for the hikers currently being detained in Iranian Prison.
A 2 Second Delayed Creek.
I particularly like the almost symmetry between both halves of the tree.

A Storm's a Brewin' (and passing through)...pt 2.
But mainly this time it's almost blown out. Anywho, a couple more shots from around Berkeley.

The Campanile and some storm clouds.
Why yes, that is the Golden Gate Bridge way off in the distance.
South Hall (Red Brick), Wheeler Hall (White Brick), and Campanile. South Hall is the oldest building on campus and once housed administration. Wheeler Hall recently held the protestors who occupied the building.
California Golden Poppy in our neighbors yard.

A Storm's a Brewin' (and passing through)...
We had a storm system that cleared out by mid-afternoon just long enough that I was able to take a couple pictures on my way to class.

I liked the details of the capillaries/xylem? if someone wants to call me out on this go right ahead :)
Engineering. Can't really beat a view like that. Unless you're in the College of Natural Resources of course :)
Doe Library and part of Memorial Glade.

California Academy of Sciences
This past weekend, I headed over to the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. If you're in the Bay Area and looking for a fun way to kill day, I wouldn't definitely stop by here. It was amazing. What follows are photos from the Rain Forest/Aquarium/Extreme Mammal/Living Roof Exhibits. It was definitely a fun day.

A Butterfly taking a break at the top of the Rainforest Exhibit.
Butterflies pollinating on some Rainforest Flowers.
The Rainforest from underwater. My only regret is that I didn't get the right orientation for a wallpaper.
Observers in the Aquarium.
This one took quite a bit of work. It was originally shot f/4.5, 1/40s, and ISO 800 which made it pretty noisy. It turned out pretty well though with some Aperture Noise Reduction plug ins.
A fish checking up on things at home.
More observers but this time in the Philippines Coral Reef which has the highest biodiversity of a coral reef in the world.
A section detailing effects of Climate Change on the world. It was a very well put together exhibit exploring both sides of the issue.
The Living Roof. The entire structure is covered in wildflowers and grasses, and solar panels. This structure has made the academy almsot entirely self sufficient with power coming from the panels, heat coming from glass structures, and open windows. The grass also reduces the heat of the building, helping to reduce the urban heat island effect.

Tellefsen Hall Website Photo Project
The old Tellefsen Hall website is a little out of date. A friend decided to give it a new face and asked if I could take some photos for it. Today was a pretty nice day weather wise. Clouds in the sky were definitely a plus. Here's the first of a couple. We might get better weather on another day. Who knows. These tiny thumbnails don't do the photos justice. Click to see higher resolution pictures.

Huntington Beach Trip
As Spring Break came to an end, a group of friends and I headed down to Huntington Beach to enjoy the last day of break. What follows are I suppose Sports/Natura/Sunset/Goof Off Photography :).
The Victory Slam of a well earned touchdown.
The walk of shame after another touchdown :).
It's kind of nice being able to get down and really close to the action, even with a telephoto lens.
An attempt to photograph a ladybug. Not exactly sure why, but they were all over the beach. Still, the sand detail is cool.
Bird flying towards.
Birds flying away.
Silhouetted Long-Billed Curlew. Submitted to National Geographic here.
Sunset.
Candid shot of somebody on the beach. Candid shots are always the best.
Bird flying towards the sunset.
Playing with embers.
